“I am an abstract painter working in an intuitive, process-driven way. The essence of Landscapes echoes through my work.”

My paintings are my inquiry into how much the natural world is changing around us and what these changes mean to me, as an artist and as a human being.”

Humans shape the world by dividing land, satellite

I'm interested in making paintings that are about the tension of light and dark, darkness within the constraints of formal abstract painting.

Inner and outer landscape,

The formal discipline of an abstract painting against free and organic mark-making

Light, Landscape, poetics of space, sublime, the remains of an emotional presence, memory in place, light moving through architecture, the image unveils itself, veils of light, curischro, the tension between organic mark-making and hard edges, aerial views of a satellite. A painting within a painting, psychogeography, mapping, agriculture, the way we shape the landscape,

I work by layering paint and other materials including copper dust, inks and graphite using brushes, palette knives and rollers. I then work back into the painting, partially removing some layers to expose deeper, hidden surfaces across the different elements. Ultimately I’m working with the materials to form and reveal the image.
